AWANA stands for Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed, based on 2 Timothy 2:15. For more than 50 years, AWANA Clubs International ( has reached preschoolers through high school students with the gospel of Christ, training them to serve Him.

With the beginning of AWANA Club Sept. 2, 2015, Nassau Bay Baptist Church will begin its 18th year of serving the Bay Area with the same goal. Club meets every Wednesday, 6-7:30pm (NEW time) throughout the school year.

Children who will be 3 years old through those beginning 6th grade as of Sept. 1st are welcome to join the fun! AWANA Club at NBBC is divided into three age groups. Using the public school standard for age/grade, Clubbers are grouped as follows:

  • Cubbies: 3 yrs – preK
  • Sparks: Kindergarten - 2nd grade
  • Truth & Training (T&T): 3rd - 6th grade.

A parent meeting is scheduled for 6:10 p.m., Sept. 2, the first night of Club. Please make every effort to attend. We will review the NBBC AWANA Club calendar, standards, and the vital role parents play in their child's success in AWANA Club (And, subsequently, their spiritual success!). Your AWANA Club commanders will be available to answer questions.

Club participation is not dependent on any church affiliation* and membership/attendance at NBBC is not required. All are welcome!

Each Wednesday, Clubbers enjoy an evening of games, handbook time, and council time all with the goal of teaching Biblical truths and the love of Christ. Scripture memorization is at the heart of AWANA Club (Psalm 119:11). Special activities are scheduled throughout the Club year as show in the 2015-16 Awana Calendar Page 1 and Page 2.

There are fees associated with membership in AWANA (handbook, uniforms, dues) but we at NBBC do not want ability to pay be a hindrance to joining. Scholarships are available. Speak to our AWANA Club Commanders, Bonnie and Steve Pritchett or Mike and Cheryl Red, for details.

For your convenience, a registration form and supply order forms are provided below.

Registration for AWANA Club is Wednesday Aug. 26, 6-7:30 p.m. Those joining club during the year can bring the forms when their child begins attending club.
